The Agricultural Land Trust (ASX: AGJ) is an A-REIT with headquarters in Adelaide Australia.
Peter Zachert is the Chairman and Director. They were listed on the exchange April 10, 2003.
Agricultural Land Trust for Commercial Agriculture Use
Agricultural doesn't have their own website up yet, so there's little information available. Presumably, from their name, they invest in farmland. But this is not a normal type of land for a REIT to own. I don't recall any in the United States or Canada.
However, there is information that they'd bought two pieces of property and leased them out for another company to grow hardwood on. So they are profiting from lumber.
Therefore, the Agricultural Land Trust is a real estate investment trust will probably benefit from increases in rural land usage and rental values in Australia.
