American Assets Trust was the first new Real Estate Investment Trust in the United States to have an IPO in 2011. It raised $564 million. It owns offices, retail and hotel properties in California, Oregon, Hawaii and Texas. It is self-administered.
American Assets is based in San Diego California. It began as a private company, American Assets in 1967. John Chamberlain is Chief Executive Officer and President.
