Associated Estates Realty Corporation is a self-administered, self-managed real estate investment trust owning and managing upscale, premier apartment living quarters, in high barrier to entry markets. Its headquarters are in Richmond Heights Ohio, and it owns buildings in 9 states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Associated Estates Realty is listed on both the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ exchange under the ticker symbol AEC. It currently has an interest in 54 apartment communities with over 13,000 units. AEC went public in November 1993, originally Associated Estates Group which was founded in the mid-1960s.
Associated Estates has an affiliated company, MIG Realty Advisors, Inc to provide real estate investment and management services to pension plans.
