BRE Properties is a real estate investment trust founded in 1970, and they've paid regular quarterly dividends ever since that time.

BRE Properties Own Apartment Properties

Their New York Stock Exchange symbol is BRE, and their specialty is developing, acquiring and managing modern (built after 1980), apartment properties in attractive, quality areas of the western United States, where supply of quality apartments is limited. They place great stress on making their apartments attractive places to live, so they feel like home to the tenants renting them. Their slogan is, "Be Here, Be Home." Not an easy tasks for apartments to achieve.

The current President and Chief Executive Officer is Constance B. Moore, and it's based in San Francisco California. They look for properties worth from $10 to $200 million. They look for garden communities, podium developments and wraps. For investors, they have a direct purchase and dividend reinvestment plan. They also sometimes issue preferred stock.

They now manage over 22,000 directly owned apartment units in 80 residential communities. Plus, they're engaged in joint ventures.

BRE Properties is a REIT that plans to prosper so long as there's a market for well-managed, upscale properties in the most attractive cities in the west.
