Douglas Emmett, Inc. (NYSE: DEI) is a self-administered and self-managed Real Estate Investment Trust that invests in high quality office and apartment buildings in Southern California and Hawaii.
The properties of Douglas Emmett are mainly in ten submarkets – Brentwood, Olympic Corridor, Century City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Westwood, Sherman Oaks/Encino, Warner Center/Woodland Hills, Burbank and Honolulu.
From 1971 to 1991, Dan Emmett and his various partners founded three real estate companies. Douglas Emmett now owns and operates about 14.3 million square feet of Class A office space and 2,868 luxury apartment units. Its headquarters are in Santa Monica, California. Jordan L. Kaplan is President and Chief Executive Officer. It held its Initial Public Offering October 24, 2006.
