Duke Realty is the largest real estate investment trusts specializing in commercial properties in the United States. It's based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was founded in 1972. Its first property was Building One in Park 100 Business Park in Indianapolis.
Duke Realty Commercial Properties
Duke (DRE) has 142 million square feet of office and industrial property, plus medical office and retail real estate, located in 24 cities. It provides site selection, development, financing, construction, leasing and property management services. It also owns 7,700 acres to provide sites for 113 million square feet of future development. The CEO is Denny Oklak.
Duke has recently been finding medical office properties especially profitable.
DRE became a publicly traded company during its IPO in 1993. In 2007 it merged with Bremner Healthcare to form BremnerDuke Healthcare Real Estate which deals with the planning, development, ownership and management of medical facilities. These include medical office buildings, oncology centers, surgery centers to in-patient complete care hospitals.
Duke Realty (DRE) is a large commercial REIT that should continue to make money.
