Equity Inns, Inc is a real estate investment trust that is the largest REIT in the United States owning upscale hotel and select service segments of the hotel hospitality industry.
Equity Inns Hotels
Equity Inns owns 130 hotels in 35 states with over 15,500 rooms. They use 15 leading hotel management companies. Over 97% of their portfolio in included in these top brand names: Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton and Hyatt Place by Hyatt. Their New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol was ENN, and their headquarters are in Germantown Tennessee.
On October 25, 2007 they were acquired by Whitehall Street Global Real Estate Partnership 2007. It originally had its IPO in 1994.
Therefore, Equity Inns is no longer being traded, and so is an irrelevant REIT for us.
