Forest City Enterprises, Inc is a real estate investment trust that owns, develops, acquires and manages commercial and residential real estate properties -- retail centers, apartment buildings, office buildings and hotels throughout the United States. Its New York Stock Exchange ticker symbols are FCEA and FCEB. Its corporate headquarters are in Cleveland Ohio.
Forest City Enterprises was started in 1920 by the Ratowczer (later changed to Ratner) family as a lumberyard. It went public in 1960. It divides its business units into: commercial, residential and land development. It recently opened an office in London England so it's now international in scope. It now owns about $10.9 billion in properties. And it does have a DRIP (dividend reinvestment program).
