UDR, Inc. is a real estate investment trust that focuses on high quality residential apartments, multifamily buildings and houses. It used to go by the name United Dominion Realty, and its New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol is UDR. It's in the S&P 400. They've been around for over 35 years.
UDR owns over 44,000 apartments and 5116 houses, with almost 700 houses under construction. It's based in Highlands Ranch Colorado. They have about 250,000 residents in their 150 communities.
They have a subsidiary company, RE3, developing condominiums -- over 1500 developed. In California, Oregon, Maryland, Florida, Arizona and Colorado. Lumiere in Chandler Arizona and Gallery in Tampa Florida. Las Colinas Texas.
They operate under their Proprietary Management Approach. This means that on site staff solves tenants problems as though they were the property owners. They also have local Housing Advantage programs working with local employers.
They're in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
