Apollo Residential Mortgage, Inc (NYSE:AMTG) is a mortgage Real Estate Investment Trust that is focused on investing in, financing, and managing mortgage-backed securities, residential mortgage loans, and other residential mortgage assets in the US.
After the 2008 financial crisis, this has to be considered a risky area, so hopefully Apollo is not repeating any of the mistakes made at that period.
It's brand new as I write, just having its IPO July 22, 2011.
They are externally managed by ARM Manager, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Apollo Global Management, LLC. They're based in New York City.
