Chimera Investment Corporation is a mortgage real estate investment trust. They are externally managed by FIDAC (Fixed Income Discount Advisory Company), the wholly owned registered investment advisor of Annaly Capital Management Inc.
Chimera Investment Residential Mortgage Loans
Chimera Investment invests in residential mortgage loans, residential mortgage-backed securities, real estate related securities and other real estate related financial securities. This includes Alt-A mortgage loans which were underwritten under less stringent standards but where the borrowers are still considered low-risk. Or RMBS -- Residential Mortgage Backed Securities. Collateralized Debt Obligations. CMBS -- Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities. And ABS -- other Asset Backed Securities.
They trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CIM.
