Highcroft Investments plc (LSE:HCFT) is a UK-REIT with properties concentrated in South East England. They own a mix of residential, retail, offices and industrial buildings.
At its May 2011 stockholder meeting, there was a motion to either seek a merger with a larger company or to sell off the company's assets. This motion was defeated.
Highcroft is based in Oxon. They are slowly reducing their portfolio of residential buildings by selling one per year.
Highcroft converted to UK-REIT status April 1, 2008.

Multi-let office building in London, SW1; Distribution centre in Kidlington, Oxfordshire; Radio station and office building in Oxford; Multi-let retail units in Staines, with offices; Office building in central Bristol; Retail unit in Oxford; Distribution centre in Southampton; Retail unit in Leamington Spa; Industrial unit in Leamington Spa; multi-let retail units in Cirencester, with residential; retail unit in Norwich; retail unit in Oxford; Bank premises in Petersfield; Licensed leisure and retail property in Warrington; Retail unit in Beckenham; Retail unit in Yeovil; bank premises in Reigate; Retail unit in Kingston; and eight residential properties. In December 2010 they bought an Industrial unit in Leamington Spa.
Although the motion to get rid of the company as such was defeated, it seems like a red flag that it was even proposed. Therefore, Highcroft Investments plc is not a Real Estate Investment Trust I'd be comfortable buying on an individual basis.
